To be Eligible for IHP Medical and Dental, applicants must be:

  • Live in Ingham County
  • Not have or be eligible for health insurance (Medicaid, Healthy Michigan Plan (HMP), Medicare, Healthy Kids, MIChild, Commercial) or any other medical benefit, including employer-sponsored health insurance. Exceptions: You may have Medicaid Spend-down, and Emergency Services Only (ESO) Medicaid and still be eligible for IHP.
  • Meet income guidelines - yearly household income equal to or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level. For a one person household this is $36,450 per year.

HOW TO ENROLL IN IHP:

1) You can enroll using ONLINE APPLICATION. Available in English & espanol. If you have questions about the online process you can email planmanagement@ihpmi.org. The in-person application process is still available. [SEE OPTION #2]

2) CALL SITE BEFORE VISITING TO CHECK AVAILABILITY. ENROLLMENT ASSISTANCE MAY ONLY BE AVAILABLE AT SPECIFIC DAYS/TIMES OR MAY ONLY OFFER OVER-THE-PHONE ASSISTANCE You can complete an IN-PERSON interview with an Enrollment Specialist at various sites in Ingham County. You will need to bring proof of income and residency in Ingham County. You may be asked to provide proof that you have applied for Healthy Michigan Plan or were denied (if you appear eligible).
